Fine artist ELICIA JACOBS kindly paints and donates an exclusive piece of black history artwork for the Back2BlackAwards fundraising auction.
Elicia Jacobs [pictured above alongside her portrait of her Grandma] was born in Hackney, East London in 1980. She studied GSCE and A’Level Art in Hornsey, London and continued to learn new techniques by attending workshops and 1 on 1 sessions with other artists, to nurture and develop her talent.
Elicia is a fine artist, specialising in portrait, figurative and abstract paintings. Oils are her preferred medium but she also enjoys working with acrylic paints. Her heroes in the art world are pop artist Roy Lichtenstein, portrait artist Jonathan Yeo and of course her mother, who shared her own creative techniques with her from a very young age and has always encouraged her to pursue her passion.
Her first commissioned work was in 2009, for a private client who wanted to fill the walls of his music room with paintings of cars. Through the power of word of mouth, her client base has grown and she has gone from strength to strength and the demand for Elicia’s services grows every day.
